Here is the finished product at my degree show!

My books are finally finished.

So I've created my 2 stories. I scanned my paintings, then printed them out on expensive paper. I then got the pages bound in hardback.

Here are 2 pages taken from Philippe's Afterlife and Karmen's Afterlife.

A little poem I wrote about my other half in which without I am in complete.

Expand, let it expand again,
back to its original state,
then you'll be back with me.

Allow green specks flow into it,
into those sacks that inhabit our preciousness,
my gift to you.

Imagine expansion, healing green energy
Open for him,
Breathe positive
Release negative

When I said I could deal with big things, I lied. I have tempted fate too many times.

Inspirations..

Bjork! She has been a huge inspiration to me over the last few years. Her music, clothes, album art is all so imaginative and unique! She's just great. Unfortunately I've never seen her live, one day though I will!

Bjork's friend Gabriela is an artist who has also inspired me. Her drawings have been used for Bjork's Family Tree album. The little froggy thing below is one of her drawings. I actually saw her art at the 2005 Venice Biennale. It was really great, I just wished I had longer to see it all. I was kind of rushed. One of her pieces was a video and it feature Bjork dressed up in sandbags, giving birth to this moldy person. It was quite strange but great.

My paintings.

Okay, so I'm an art student in my final year. For my degree show I'm creating a number of children stories. Each one is based on a child passing away and entering the afterlife. It may seem grim but my paintings are all about easing children's fears about dying. My paintings of the afterlife are very imaginative and peaceful. I hope that my paintings will encourage children to be open minded about what waits for them when they pass over. I'm fed up of this stereotypical image of pearly gates and fluffy white clouds. In my case, my "heaven" is a forest with surreal plant life and under the sea, where you are met by strange creatures riding on the back of a whale. Eventually these children merge with nature and become part of the universe, where the cycle begins again.


Flower girl (series, watercolour)

This particular painting is of Karmen, one of my characters. After she has passed over and transcended through the forest - through the different stages of the spiritual planes, she turns into a flower. These little paintings will be hung on the wall, whereas the other paintings will be turned into a book.

This painting is part of a series. Each painting is of Karmen turning into a flower. They are only small, and I am willing to paint extra ones and sell them if anybody is interested.
My newest character is Philippe who turns into a piece of coral. Soon I'll be creating small paintings of him transforming into coral.


Connected thought form

These abstract paintings are manifestations of my character's and their families thoughts as they pass over. If their thoughts could be seen this is what each thought would look like. I've painted a thought form for each story scene. This is just one of them. This particular painting corresponds to the last painting in my first story - when Karmen turns into a flower and becomes whole with the universe.

Astrological birth charts

This is my natal chart (click on it to make it bigger). It shows the positions of all the planets the time I was born. This makes up my character. The planets are constantly shifting from house to house and the positions the planets were the time you are born makes up your character. Each planet and house has it's own meaning. I've always been interested in astrology and my natal chart is quite accurate in describing me. Many people are skeptical but I say why don't you just treat it as a bit of fun, there is no harm in that.

You can easily make one for yourself if you know the time you are born. The web address is www.astrology.com and look for the free personal readings. If you can't find it, you could give me your details and I could do it for you.

I like to collect other people's natal charts and write down what it all means in my red hello kitty book! It's so cute! Also I record all my tarot readings in there too.

Unfortunately I don't have a photo of Tiger but she is this huge ginger Oriental Tabby, who mainly lives outside because she doesn't get on with the other cats :(
Oh my God! I forgot to put up a photo of my Daisy Pops! She would never forgive me if i didn't add her photo too!
